


PATRICK SHUGART
Patrick earned a Master's Degree in Athletic Administration with a specialization in Coaching from James Madison University, where he was a starting outside hitter and captain of the men's volleyball club team that won two conference championships, two East Coast championships, and had two top-ten finishes at Nationals. In his last year at JMU, he was All-Conference and voted the conference's Best Passer. After moving to NC in 2009, he was the MVP of the Carolina Region Championships, playing as a hitter and setter in a 6-2 offense. He started coaching recreation league volleyball while in high school, then was head coach of the Valley Juniors 14s team in Harrisonburg, VA his senior year in college. After graduating, Patrick was head coach of the boy's varsity team at James River High School in Midlothian, VA for one year before moving on to be the lead assistant coach at Bridgewater College for five years, compiling a record of 136-25. While at Bridgewater, he coached two ODAC Player of the Years, one ODAC Rookie of the Year, and seven First Team All Conference players. Patrick lives in Clemmons with his wife, Chrissi, and their three children. #trainingwithpurpose
